We all get to a point in life where we feel something is not quit as it should be; something is setting us off kilter. But how do we know when that subtle feeling is a sign that a relationship, an idea, that job is meant to be let go?
In my own life, I am feeling the stirrings I mentioned above in an area of my life. If I am honest, more than one. Is it a push of the Spirit, or me getting frustrated, worried, or annoyed? Can I actually step away-or forward-without hurting others and myself?
First, I have confided in friends and family. That is important, for we need to speak our way through things and let others counsel us when a new path arrives.
Second, we need to examine our reasons for wanting a change. Is it purely for self? We must cross examine our hearts and figure out if we are merely desiring one way, or being lead to a new branch of the road. Open your heart and pray.
And lastly, seek out the Word of God. This is most important. Bear your soul to Him, as we read Hannah did on our last 'Scripture Saturday'. Find comfort in God's word about moving on and prompting.
Sometimes a person or situation is detrimental to our soul.
Things can hold us back from what we are supposed to do.
A push, other times, is a reason to seek out what God has in store.
Everything has a season. Why will you take your next step?
